I once bought a Yiddish music CD from Amazon. It was a third-party vendor. When I opened the package and took out the CD, I found it contained a Margaret Cho comedy CD. I always wondered if someone ordered the Margaret Cho CD and got the Yiddish music…I decided to keep it.
Technically I don’t qualify for a number of “senior citizen” discounts as I am a few years off from 65 when people become discount eligible. Does that make me a “pre-senior” in the same vein as a pre-teen? Frankly I just ask for the discount sometimes and they have never once bothered to check but is that akin to drinking underage?
I’ve been considering doing a tour of houses of worship in my area. People have hobbies where they try to visit all the national parks, all the amusement parks, all the states, etc. There are some lovely old buildings and dozens and dozens of denominations. If one just showed up on whatever the group considered its group’s gathering day, be it mass, sabbath, meeting, etc. would it upset the harmony? I wouldn’t be interested in being converted, just in obtaining the experience. Would that be rude? Would I be canceled for cultural appropriation?
